The concept behind the Church of the Holy Light is that the Church ought to give visitors an escape from the ordinary and connect with the transcendent through sunlight.    Worship spaces are lit through openings in the building’s faceted skin.  The facets work to shape the space and obscure the light sources.  Throughout the hours of each day and the seasons of each year the sunlight changes the shape and perception of the sanctuary, in an ethereal testament to worship.  In this way, the sanctuary embodies man’s understanding of the divine-  abstract, felt without seen or understood.
